José Sacaridiz

José Sacaridiz is a full-time artist and educator, exhibiting and teaching in many diverse venues from the Vermont Center for the Arts to The Cleveland Institute of Art. While his styles are distinguished by widely differing bodies of works, they all share three common factors; color, beauty and emotion.

The Covid-19 Virus has affected each of us in different ways, but the one universal experience we have all shared has been more time spent at home. For me, that meant more time in my studio, which resulted in a new body of work that I am proud to share with you.

As it has been nearly impossible to work outside as I once did due to Covid and my recovery from a series of back surgeries, many of my works rely on photo reference for their initial concepts, while others rely on narrative interpretations or pure emotion. As I’m sure you all remember there were days filled with frustration and anger tempered by wonderful remembrances both real and imagined. Many of my works are inspired by authors, paintings, historical and current events. While my reasons for creating these works are unique to me, I hope you will find something in them that speaks to you.
